Music Maze is an exciting series of fun, creative, participatory workshops for children age 8 – 11 inclusive organised and run by Birmingham Contemporary Music Group. There will be eight workshops from September 2014 to June 2015. Most of the workshops take place at the CBSO Centre and are led by composer Liz Johnson and the BCMG Learning Team alongside BCMG musicians. Each workshop is linked to performances by BCMG.
Participants at September’s Music Maze will use the common technique of recycling other music to create their own new pieces. Young people will draw inspiration from in situ, a piece written by young composer Edmund Finnis who has taken elements of music from the 17th Century and made them his own.
Young people do not need to be able to play a musical instrument in order to take part.
Please note that this workshop will take place at mac Birmingham, not CBSO Centre.
Participants are entitled to a free ticket for themselves and a concessionary ticket for an accompanying adult to BCMG’s concert on Saturday 4 October 2014.
Places are free but must be booked in advance using the Ticket Info tab. Booking is now closed.
