7.30pm: CBSO Mozart’s Jupiter
c.9.30pm: BCMG Late-Night Performance (free with ticket for 7.30pm concert)
Jörg Widmann is a composer, conductor and clarinettist – and we can’t wait to join him on stage at Symphony Hall for a special late-night performance.
Widmann will perform his solo clarinet work, Drei Schattentänze, himself, casting shapes across Symphony Hall’s vast spaces.
Then sixteen members of BCMG will take to the stage for his Freie Stücke – 10 linked movements that explore concentration, intensity and brevity.
This is all after our sister ensemble’s concert that evening – Widmann will be both director and clarinettist as he leads a programme of his own compositions, plays the solo part of Weber’s enchanting clarinet concert and takes to the podium for Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony.
Jörg Widmann is CBSO Artist in Residence 2017-18.
