Leaving a Legacy

Composers and the development of new work need every encouragement we can give. Leaving a legacy to BCMG enables us to support the future of new music even beyond our lifetime.

Alan Woodfield, BCMG supporter

Remembering BCMG’s work in your will is a special way to enable music to flourish in the future. Leaving a legacy to BCMG won’t cost you anything right now and it will give future generations the chance to create and enjoy the most exciting contemporary music of their time.

Any size of gift will make a valuable contribution to BCMG’s work, from helping to subsidise a local school’s participation in our workshops, to commissioning a new piece from one of contemporary music’s finest composers.

Most people choose to leave either:
A pecuniary legacy, which is a specific amount of money or item
A residuary legacy, which is the remainder or a percentage of the remainder of your estate once family and friends have been taken care of.

If you have already made a will…
And would like to leave a gift to BCMG, you can do so by making a simple addition to your existing will. This is called a codicil. This document is a supplement to your will enabling you to include new instructions and delete old ones without having to go through the task of rewriting the whole will.

If you have not already made a will…
We advise that you visit a solicitor to seek advice about how to make one. Solicitors will charge a fee, but you will receive sound professional advice and can be sure that your wishes are accurately reflected.

We would be grateful if you would let us know if you have left us a gift, as we would like to show our gratitude during your lifetime!
